Carving pumpkins for Halloween is always fun…having a large rotting squash on your front porch isn’t. After carving my pumpkin this year, I figured I’d read up on ways to preserve it a little longer (or at least make it last until Halloween!) I had heard that spraying a solution of bleach or apple cider vinegar helped slow the rotting process, but upon further research I read that an even better method was peppermint oil (is there anything essential oils aren’t good for?)
Just take an empty spray bottle, add about 2 cups of water and several drops of peppermint oil. Shake and spray inside your pumpkin and on the carved area. I’m doing it every other day or so. Happy Halloween!
I use doTerra oils- if you’re interested in learning more about doTerra oils, purchasing oils, or selling them yourself, please contact me and I’d be happy to help you.
