I recently started using body oil after my shower instead of slathering on moisturizer afterwards and the effects are fantastic. You only need a little bit of oil (less than a teaspoon for both legs- which is mostly where I use it) and it seems to last a lot longer than regular lotion. Once I turn off the shower, I just brush the excess water off my legs and apply the oil (before I dry off).
To make the oil, I use:
- 1 part each of grapeseed, almond and jojoba oils
- 10-20 drops of my favorite essential oils
That’s it! Just shake the oil before you use it to make sure it hasn’t separated and enjoy smooth, hydrated skin!
Jojoba oil is closest to the oils of our own skin and is very easily absorbed. Grapeseed oil is packed with antioxidants, helps tone and tighten skin, and is very moisturizing. Almond oil softens and smoothes the skin and also works as an anti-inflammatory.
Some essential oils I like to add to the oil are:
Lavender: calming, enhances circulation, antifungal and antiseptic
Cypress: promotes circulation and aids in body detoxification
Geranium: balancing and calming, astringent and antiseptic properties
I use doTerra oils- if you’re interested in learning more about doTerra oils, purchasing oils, or selling them yourself, please contact me and I’d be happy to help you.
